Language and communication development is at the heart of what we do. We have a number of approaches that allow us to support all children's language development. We use a 'Wellcomm', a toolkit that screens, monitors and plans interventions to help children with their speech and language development. We plan small group activities that focus on listening skills, speaking, vocabulary and confidence building. Our French sessions support language and communication through song building on children's abilities to distinguish between sounds, learn new vocabulary, listening skills. Our staff continue to develop their own skills to support language development through their interactions with children focussing on modelling language.
